CH₃NH₃Cl is an acidic salt. Is NH4CN an acidic, basic or neutral salt?
duh, basicNH4C2H3O2?
Why duh? Does that mean that you are not sure? NH4CN is a basic salt because the Kb of CN^– is much larger than the Ka of NH₄+
ammonium ion and acetate ion both have the same K value, thus the ionization will be the same and the salt is a neutral salt. Thanks for your responses!
